What we're about

Tri-State Two Wheelers - Is a family-friendly, motorcycle riding club, that focuses on the Enjoyment and Fellowship of riding motorcycles while doing so Safely.

Riding a motorcycle isn’t for everyone. It carries a level of risk which scares many. Riding a motorcycle demands a level of competence -a degree of engagement- which is unusual today. Like an old-fashioned craft, the skills and the smarts necessary to ride well, don’t come quickly. They emerge slowly, over time. Most people today simply don’t have the patience or the inclination to deal with that sort of thing.

But for those of us that do; that tiny minority who are drawn to it, the rewards are immeasurable. For us, motorcycle riding instills color into our life and fills it with adventure. It connects us to a time when people weren’t perhaps quite so shy about how they lived. A time when everything wasn’t a careful, exacting calculus of risk and reward. A bolder time when a fear of getting hurt didn’t stand as an impenetrable shield to the simple enjoyment of life.

So, yeah, those of us who ride are different. But it’s a good difference. We carry something that was common once but is rare now. Something of the purified spirit of what got us all where we are.

We’re kinda the last wolves in a land of sheep, and we're glad you're here!

If you feel the same, please join us.

Sturgis - 80th Anniversary

Sturgis, SD 57785

This will be our 4th trip to Sturgis for Bike Week. We normally post this ride/trip in January. But with this being Sturgis' 80th anniversary, bookings are going faster than normal. If you've ever wanted to attend Sturgis, this is the year to do it. We love Sturgis! On our first trip out I must say we were a little apprehensive. We heard all the stories. The reality is we've met nothing but great people, rode the most spectacular rides and immersed ourselves in nothing but fun-loving crowds for some amazing cammaraderie. We've never had a problem. Without doubt, our roadtrips to Sturgis have been the trip of the year each year. We have the Sturgis roadtrip down to a fun and easy science. From the trip out, to the daily rides, to where to stay. Here's the journey out: Day 1 - Tuesday - Arrive Kansas City - Dinner at Longhorn's Steakhouse - 168 Stewart Ct, Liberty, MO - Campers camp in Walmart parking lot. We'll show you how. Hotel/motels all around. Day 2 - Wednesday - Arrive Ogallala, NE - Dinner cookout at our campsite - Sleepy Sunflower RV, 221 Rd East 85, Ogallala, NE. Super 8 and Quality Inn within a mile. Day 3 - Thursday - Arrive afternoon Custer State Park, Game Lodge Campground: 13399 US-16A Custer, SD. Welcome dinner site 6E. Arriving from the south. We cruise in on one of the published Sturgis rides. Nice way to get our heads on! Sturgis: We camp at Custer State Park, in the Game Lodge campground for five nights, (T,F,S,S,M $25/night camping, $50/night cabins), and ride a different published 'Sturgis Rides' each day. With each ride ending in Sturgis for refreshments, shopping, snacks and people watching. I highly recommend Game Lodge campground, but there are nice campgounds, cabins, lodges and motels/hotels all around. The closer you are to the Game Lodge, the easier kickstands up is. Also evening fires, etc. We ride five days straight - arguably Sturgis' Top Five published rides. Kickstands up each morning at 10:00AM. We ride into Sturgis each day around 5:00PM. We leave Sturgis each evening around 7:00 so we can gas up and get back to camp before dark where we'll fire up the grills, get a fire going and share some bonfire time. Thursday's ride - Sunset ride, Custer Wildlife Loop Road Friday’s ride – Deadwood, Cheyenne Crossing, Spearfish Canyon, Sturgis Saturday’s ride – Sundance WY, Devils Tower, Hulett, Aladdin, Sturgis Sunday’s ride – Mt Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road, Needles Hwy Monday’s ride – Nemo, Sturgis Tuesday - Head out This trip is for anybody whether you're riding or trailering. Motor homes, travel trailers, 5th wheels, toy haulers, cars or trucks, hotels/motels, or cabins. Whatever. It all works. If you're riding, we'll haul your stuff for you. -If you can't or won't keep up, this ride is not for you. More info to follow. If you have any questions, just let me know. Tom
