This is a free co-ed event and dinner is included but you must register. We heard this speaker a year or so ago and he was really knowledgeable about the Nation of Israel in Biblical and modern times. This is an engaging opportunity to learn about our only true ally in the Middle East. Hope to see you then! I hope one of these links below works for registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/tawcmm-roy-jones-336-202-2339-5440741447 https://img.evbuc.com/https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.evbuc.com%2Fimages%2F49307399%2F82037288133%2F1%2Foriginal.jpg?h=230&w=460&auto=compress&rect=0%2C167%2C408%2C204&s=8335f945975231e9e351949b0ccf5471 https://www.eventbrite.com/e/learn-about-israel-co-ed-night-with-dinner-tickets-71836540025?ref=enivtefor001&invite=MTc0NTU3NDMvZ2FyeTM3MzdAYXR0Lm5ldC8w&utm_source=eb_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=inviteformalv2&utm_term=eventpage
If you are looking for a safe place to get real and allow God to transform you with the Gospel from the inside out, this might be the group for you. This discipleship course is designed for Christians of all backgrounds, both for those who have been believers for years to those who are brand new followers of Christ. Each time we meet we will have a worship time, watch a video teaching, and have a discussion & prayer time. Two of us have already taken this course and found it to be very helpful in our walk with God, due to the focus on renewing our minds with the truth. We will meet once a week for ten weeks, doubling up a couple of weeks with a possible Saturday meeting so we can finish before the holidays. One member who took the course in the past recently shared how deeply God worked in her life through it, and said that it was the best discipleship course she has ever attended. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PURCHASING YOUR OWN PARTICIPANT'S GUIDE BEFORE THE GROUP BEGINS. "Freedom in Christ...A 10-week life-changing discipleship course Participant's Guide" by Neil Anderson & Steve Goss (ISBN[masked]) We are asking that you sign up only if you are able to commit to attending at least 8 of the 10 sessions. (Makeup opportunities will be available for 2 out of the 10 weeks.) This request is due to the importance of maintaining a consistent group that can build relationship and maintain confidentiality as we go through the course together. Topics include: Who we are in Christ, Choosing to believe the Truth, The World's view of Truth, Our Daily choice, The Battle for our Minds, Handling emotions well, Forgiving from the heart, Renewing the mind, relating to others, the steps to freedom in Christ. Please prayerfully consider your involvement. We look forward to walking together with whoever God is calling to take part, and growing together in Christ! Many Blessings! Tasha
We will meet near the gas pumps at the Harris Teeter in Clemmons (4150 Clemmons rd. ), Tanglewood Commons, at 8 am, drive to the Linville Gorge, hike, eat a light lunch on the trail after hiking about 1 hour, hike all afternoon (with breaks), eat dinner on the trail, then hike an easy .75 miles to an area to see the sunset. The trails will be easy, moderate, and some strenuous I estimate we will hike about 6 -7 miles altogether, maybe less. Unfortunately, we can't eat dinner in Linville and see the sunset both. The road on this side of the gorge is ok, but low clearance vehicles can't make it.
Located in Asheboro and in the foothills of the Uwharrie Mountains, Richland Creek looks like a great place to try out zip lining. (Thanks to Bob for this idea!) We’ll meet there at 2:45pm; carpooling is recommended. Our tour starts at 3pm and should last[masked] minutes. Afterwards, we’ll head towards home and stop for dinner somewhere. (If flying through the air in an awkward harness isn’t your idea of fun, please consider the 4x4 mule ride-along for $10 instead. You can watch the rest of us and take photos but space is limited to 5 people on the mule.) Participate at your own risk. See their website below for more details, pricing, and safety information. Website: http://www.richlandcreekzipline.com/ Video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=K1gMJUd8Fk0 PLEASE NOTE: I will need to confirm our headcount with Richland Creek a few days in advance. If you need to change your RSVP, please do so on this Meetup page no later than October 16th. Pricing varies with the size of our group. Please visit the website above for pricing information. Please add a comment on this page to let me know if you want the 4x4 mule ride. Spaces on the mule vehicle are limited to 5 on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive by 2:45pm. They’ve asked us to get there early to allow time for payment, harness fitting, etc. You will need to pay at the event location by CASH OR CHECK ONLY. They do not accept credit or debit cards. Please review the Rates & Reservations page on the website above for safety requirements, rules, size limits, etc. If the weather looks yucky or unsafe, or if participation is low, we’ll cancel or reschedule. Hopefully that won’t be necessary!
