Following up on Felix's great talk on Openstack, in which he showed us how difficult it can be to get working software (a pain I'm sure we've all felt), Openstack and Rackspace have released an auto-installer called Alamo.
It is a private cloud installation of Openstack provided by Rackspace. It takes care of all the installation of Openstack for you. It can be found here
if you are interested. It looks like you have to fill out a form giving information to Rackspace to be able to download it. I haven't done this, but if someone tries it out I'd be interested to hear how your experience goes.
is the first write up I found on it when I Googled it and it gives a nice over view, so I suggest reading it if you're curious about this new way to install Openstack.
Full Disclaimer: Alamo uses Chef to help do the install and I happen to work for Opscode, makers of Chef, just so that is clear.
