Hi. I work at Canonical, the company that sponsors Ubuntu Linux. We are looking for a front-end expert to raise our game on the Juju GUI project. Demo is http://uistage.jujuch... and Juju info is at https://juju.ubuntu.c... .

We use YUI 3, so you'd need to come up to speed on that framework, but if you are a JS expert without YUI 3 we're hoping that a lot of your experience would carry over and you'd come up to speed quickly.

This is a home-based position. I'm in Raleigh, and some other folks in the company are around the Triangle, and we have face-to-face sprints every six months or so, so you will get to know us that way. Also, Canonical has been a fully distributed development company for years and years now, so we have some good skills and best practices as a company to help everyone to get along, feel connected, and feel productive.

The job description is over here: https://ch.tbe.taleo....

(It's quite ugly on Chrome with the styling gone, because of a HTTP vs HTTPS issue that I've raised already internally. Sorry. Use Firefox, and/or hold your nose.)

I'm happy to answer questions about this @garyposter or on G+ ()

Web Application Developer at Rally Software

Are you a front end JavaScript wizard who understands the Good Parts? Do you want to work with developers who realize that JavaScript can have inheritance? We are looking for passionate developers capable of working across our stack with strong experience in building user interfaces with JavaScript, HTML and CSS. Rally Software is creating new user experiences that push the limits of current browser-based technology with a revolutionary app platform that is also used by customers to extend our product.

Our Engineering team is a group of polyglots, and if you looked at our codebase, you’d find Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Scala, Groovy and some SQL. We won’t exclude candidates because of their language of choice. We have engineers that love OO and Functional programming. We pick the best for the task at hand. Yes we have a relational database, but No-SQL solutions like Cassandra, MongoDB, and HBase are used as well.

Do you think releasing code once per week or month or quarter is old school? Yup, so do we. We release code into production multiple times a day. Automated testing is a first-class citizen at Rally. We test at every level, from fast running unit tests for both our JavaScript front-end and our various back-ends, to full-stack tests that drive the browser.

If you're interested or know someone who may be, check out our full job description here:
