Triangle JavaScript Monthly Meetup - 05.2012

  • May 22, 2012 · 7:00 PM
  • WebAssign

Join us for the Triangle JavaScript monthly meetup! This month VoltDB field engineer Andy Wilson will be on hand to talk about using VoltDB with Node.js:

Building Scalable Node.js Apps with VoltDB

VoltDB is a super-fast, horizontally-scalable open source database. We’ve recently released a Node.js driver that allows you to build Node apps that scale to hundreds of thousands of database TPS. Whether you’re building a mobile app, an online game, a digital advertising system or any other application that needs incredibly high throughput and scale, VoltDB should be on your database short list. Come meet our engineers and see a demo of Node.js and VoltDB in action.

We will be meeting at WebAssign on NCSU's Centennial Campus. See you there! Pizza and swag :)

The WebAssign location is great. The VoltDB preso was well done, but I don't know that I will ever use it in my position. It is good to know about different technologies though.

My first meeting, so it was great to meet people before and afterwards. The talk was over my head as I am a business-oriented person trying to learn more about software and technology. But seemed useful to those there.

Facilities were awesome, as was the pizza. The presentation was a bit dry and didn't really dig into as much actual Node.js code as I hoped.
