• Renaissance Swordsmanship - Beginner's Class (Brier Creek)

    Brier Creek Community Center

This class is an introduction to Renaissance Swordsmanship, open to anyone interested in getting started. All are welcome, regardless of prior experience. No equipment is necessary for the beginner class, though please come dressed in exercise clothes and don't forget to bring water. The class is outdoors so please wear appropriate cloths for the weather. This class begins with the fundamentals of the one-handed sword as used in 16th-century Italy. Students will learn the basics here over a couple weeks of private lessons before joining the Fundamentals class. Please RSVP if you intend to come. TRAINING FEES: Our club's training fees are $40 / month, but classes are free through the first calendar month to give new students a chance to try us out. Feel free to drop by, try out our classes for a few weeks free of charge, and see if we're a good fit for you. WAIVERS: Please note: In order for members to participate we need everyone to sign a participation waiver. Although we do everything we can to train safely and effectively, with all martial arts there is always a risk of injury. These waivers ensure that no one, participants and teachers alike, is put in undue legal risk. Please fill out the following form and bring it to your first practice.
