Tonight I want to share with you my Camp Quest Experience but I can't give you sunburn or have you sleep on a hard bunk bed. I'll tell you briefly how it went and I'll answer some questions but the main thrust of the meeting will be supporting our young secularists.
Camp Quest is new and it's wonderful but how can we do more? What should we be doing? Many of us were raised with religion and then de-converted at various ages although some of us never had religion thrust upon us. When we go to the schools we're usually in a fight about school prayer but what if we could do more positive things. It's not easy and efforts that we would support would be viewed by the religious majority as an unwelcome intrusion. Can we do anything? How about out of school events. Alternate holiday activities?
Just some thoughts to get us going. See you at the Denny's!
This is a recurring meeting. The group meets on the third Monday of the month at the Denny's on Speedway. The meeting officially begins at 7PM but many people choose to meet earlier to socialize before the meeting. I start setting up equipment around 6 and enjoy the company while I get the equipment ready for the meeting.
