How long have you been an atheist?

My parents were culturally jewish but they were scientists, so they never tried to indoctrinate me with religion. Growing up in Prescott, AZ, where it was mostly mormon and non-intellectual, I felt very alone. I was very excited when I was 12 and overheard a conversation about this group of people called 'atheists'.

Hello, I'm Iris. I'm an atheist, with a PhD in analytic philosophy, and I'm trying to promote critical thinking in the youth. You can learn about my project atm Hope to meet some of you soon!

What Iris is saying about this Meetup Group

As an academic, the idea of joining an atheist group seemed a little redundant. But I was wrong. This is fun, and worthwhile. Don Lacey is quickly becoming one of my favorite atheists.
