George, our current webmaster, has decided to hang it up. Below is his note to the world. At the next meeting on the 19th of January, we should discuss the future of the Tucson Atheist website. (www.tucsonatheist.org
For those who do not know me, I have been a member of TA for several years and the webmaster for the tucsonatheist.org website for a couple of years. I have decided recently that I will not renew my membership. I am looking for someone competent in using HTML, Dreamweaver, or other website generating software to take over the website.
I will help you make the transition and give you all the information you need to access the website. I will give you the necessary user name and password to access and manage the website. I will also send you the all the files that support the site. If there is no one able and willing, the website will be abandoned by the end of January 2009. At this time the webspace is paid for until early February 2009.
It is my belief that the website is an excellent public relations tool for our cause. It provides an opportunity for others who might be interested in joining us to get to know something about what we stand for, and it provides an answer to those who oppose us.
I am attaching the stats for this year. As you can see the number of people viewing our site continues to grow with 4138 hits in January 2009 to over 9300 hits by the end of the day tomorrow or 935 to 1700 unique visits. That represents a lot of interest for a local organization!
So if you have the desire and skills needed to do the job, please contact me directly at [address removed]. This shift will, of course, require the approval of the TA membership. Thank you.
