Roman will be hosting Philomena at Varsity, meeting at 6:00, movie starts 6:25.

This movie is based on the true story of a mother, played by
Judy Dench, forced to give up her child, born out of wedlock in an Irish-Catholic community, and five decades later teaming up with a BBC reporter (Steve Coogan), investigating baby trafficking, to find her long-lost son. According to Now Magazine, “It’s a tribute to both actors that Dench’s performance doesn’t feel like a naked Oscar bid, nor does she totally obliterate Coogan’s fine supporting turn.” The movie is running 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and 92% among critics. So come and join us to enjoy some fine acting, and a bit to eat afterwards!

I would like to invite Paul and Roman for a coffee this Sunday. Would be kind and civilized of you to accept my invitation.

A little gem of a movie--not flashy, but alternatively drily funny and deeply touching. Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the conversation after the movie, specially the conversation in the coffee shop.I learned that our mutual sense of fraternity does not depend on religion at all! It might be geographical or historical, thanks to Paul and Roman.
