What we're about

Tuki Tiger Adventures…London’s best walking group for hard, physically challenging outdoors hikes, as well as easier going trails for the majority.

We organise day, weekend and overseas trips. An active group for anyone who likes walking, wants to have fun improving their fitness, enjoys new experiences and appreciates visiting beautiful places - with the optional benefit of meeting new people on exciting, creatively designed and expertly led hiking trails.

You will find a mixture of walks on offer from gentle easy day strolls to challenging, very hilly trails tackled at a strenuous pace.

Ultimately we’re about embracing nature, escaping reality - like-minded individuals, exploring and enjoying together! The great outdoors is our playground and adventure is our pleasure!

Is the Tiger spirit in you?

Who is Tuki Tiger?

An experienced hiker, walk leader and qualified fitness instructor - I have enjoyed the outdoors all my life and want to share this passion with you. My emphasis is very much on devising challenging, hilly trails but navigated in a fun vigorous manner, where emphasis is placed on making new friends in a joyful environment, incorporating the best the outdoors has to offer.

If you’re seeking to improve your general health, crave harder more challenging walks or simply desire to be led on a thrilling outdoor hiking adventure without any worries of your own, then Tuki Tiger hikes are the ones for you!

What walk adventures do we organise?

The South of England has a plethora of hidden beauty and delightful treats. With the extensive knowledge garnered from decades of walking it is the mission of Tuki Tiger Adventures to devise exciting days out for all to enjoy this outdoor mecca.

The great places we can and will visit include but not restricted to: Chiltern Hills, High Weald, Kent Downs, South Downs, Surrey Hills and numerous coastal trails.

Walkers can expect a professionally organised and competently guided outdoor adventure. With a lot of hard work, every trail is custom designed to devise unique routes, thoroughly planned and all pre-walked to maximise enjoyment.

Walks vary in difficulty - from easier trails geared towards the majority with relatively easy-going terrain and at a relaxed pace, to uniquely, very demanding days out with multiple ascents at a fast pace - very challenging and not for the faint hearted!

A hike grading system is used where TIGER PAWS are used to depict the nature of a day’s events. Please click on the link below for further info. It is VERY IMPORTANT you carefully understand the physical nature of each adventure to avoid disappointment as some hikes are for the strong and experienced only.

Day Hikes

The structure to these walks will typically consist of small breaks at appropriate moments and an extended break for lunch - nearly always on or a little way after the half distance mark. Time dependant, there will also usually be a planned afternoon pub/cafe stop to enjoy a well earned refreshment in cosy surroundings before completing the final mileage to an end hostelry for a celebration drink.

What about safety?

Safety is always our number one priority. Although we can never make the outdoor environment entirely safe, with our experience, training and meticulous planning we aim to minimise the risk.

Tuki Tiger hikes are led by very experienced walk leaders with an Outdoor Activity First Aid qualification or similar.

Generally event numbers are restricted to ensure trails are navigated and managed in the most effective manner.
