Indoor Macro Photography Workshop

Hay Capital Round Up Club Inola,OK

Please join Jeanne Christian for this hands on workshop, based on our January Library Session. We will have various stations setup for macro photography. This allows everyone to work within a group or on your own, ask questions or just hang out.

Members are encouraged to bring things from home to experiment with and share with others. Think about your object and try to include a complementary background (could be scrap book paper for a tiny object), what kind of light will you use (available, window light, flash, reflective). For small objects, off camera flash may be used like studio lights. Mirrors and reflectors can help illuminate small objects. This is a great time to experiment shooting to stack images in post processing for greater depth of field.

Laptops can be brought as well for immediate viewing/tethered or stacking purposes. There are plenty of outlets in the building, but might bring an extension cord in case.

Feel free to bring snacks and water. You might want to photograph them up close before eating. :o)

Directions:

Take highway 244/I-44/412 east to Catossa. Stay on Highway 412 east past Catossa heading towards Choteau. (DO NOT MERGE ON TO I-44) approximately 12 miles to Inola, do not exit in Inola, stay on Hwy 412 to the next Road after the Inola/Hwy 88 Exit. After you pass the exit you wil climb a large hill, at the bottom of the hill you will see a storage facility on your left, This is the road you turn on, turn right on "S. 4230 Rd" Go to the stop sign, continue forward for a 1/2 block, white house on right, there is a sign at a driveway that points back to the round up club, take a right and follow the drive back to the arena and metal building.

It was a very educational type workshop. I learned so much!
Taught exactly what was needed to know. Thanks Jeanne for this perfectly organized and executed digital photography workshop. Had so much help as a 'newbee'. Thanks so much, Mike Spivey & Barry Selke.

I loved how experienced macro shooters were helping those less experienced. This is what our group is all about!

Did anyone else notice that macro is more than just taking small things and making them big? Depth of field plays a huge part in macro. Oh yeah, you'll be a chimping expert in no time!

This was great fun and a good learning experience for me. Jeanne did super job in having plenty of things to shoot. It could not have been better. And let me say thanks to everyone for sharing your knowledge with us beginners. Barry was my one on one tutor and I learned several specific things I was looking to learn. Big thanks to you Jeanne.
