Since December we might be spending more time rockin' around the Christmas tree or singing some Chanukah songs- let's give ourselves a one month break and have a holiday party!
I have booked the party room at my apartment, so we will have plenty of room for food, games, socializing, fun, and a book exchange! I will be providing appetizers, and desserts, but I do ask for a 5 dollar donation to help cover the cost of the room.
For the book exchange- please bring a wrapped new or lightly used book! It could be something you've already read and loved, or something you really want to read! We will exchange books white elephant style- and then when everyone unwraps the book, we will let the gift giver say a few sentences about the book and whether or not the have read it- or why they want to read it! When all the books have been unwrapped, we will choose a book for our January meeting! If you have any questions- please let me know!
Also, start thinking about monthly book themes you would like to see in the next year. We have had a couple suggestions like Romance, Black History month, and banned books- but in hopes of getting the absolute coolest themes out there- bring suggestions and we can chose what themes we want for Febuary-March-April!
Finally, I had originally made this a potluck- but upon further reflection, I decided that a potluck and book exchange for a Friday night is a bit much. So, I will provide the food so that you can focus on choosing a book! That being said, if you would like to bring a dish to share (or drinks) please do!
If you are a new face- please feel free to join us and participate in the book exchange! We will be getting a lot of the seasoned members to join us- and we all love love love new faces! If you have any hesitations- feel free to message me, and I will help appease them.
I can't wait to see you all! I hope you are ready to Par-Tay like the coolest book worms around! If you have any questions, please let me know!
