FYI to all who are near the Hastings, MN area:

Counter protest considered, Hastings High School in Hastings, MN February 13, 2011 1:15 PM - 2:00 PM -- The Westboro Baptist Church is planning to picket The Laramie Project, quote: "A fag propaganda play about Matt Shepard. He has been in hell for 12 years now. Judy Shepard raised her son to be a disobedient drug using pervert, and God cut that child off. His blood is on her hands!"

Anyway- some locals are possibly planning on being there to counter protest these hateful people.  I can't be there myself due to the distance, but wanted to share if anyone else was interested!

Thanks,

That's thats just what I was looking for. I think this is an important thing to show up at even though it's last minute. Ironically their hate might be one of the best unifying tools around for atheists and theists...

By my standards the counter-protest was a success. There was no violence, there was plenty of smiles and camaraderie and most importantly there was no Westborough Baptist Church. We cheered and flashed a variety of signs to honking passerbys and in general a positive message was conveyed.

And his noodly message was conveyed. Ramen.
