RIVER ROAD MEDITATIVE RAMBLE -- INAUGURAL VENTURE

“Find Peace, for a moment.” Saturday evening, Sept. 21st. Meet at 7:15 p.m. by Dunn Bros. at west end of Lake St. Bridge. Now, you too can discover that rarest of phenomena, Silence, down by the river, as you lie back, absorbed in darkness/brightness of the night. We ask that people be silent when they get to the bottom of the road so that all of us can enjoy being with nature in peace and quiet. Conversation is OK at every other point along the way, however, and people enjoy socializing during, as well as after the hike. We also attempt to be without external mind-numbing distractions of technology, in order to tune internally to the beauty of nighttime experience. No cell phones, pagers, flash cameras, etc., except for emergencies. You won't need a flashlight, except perhaps for use on a spot basis, during descent down road to river. 3.5 mi. Round Trip, all on paved trails. Call Larry at (952)[masked] after 4 p.m. daily or e-mail for more information, or weather updates day of hike. Possible visit from I Cougar.

I had a wonderful time by the river.
It was awesome gazing into the night sky.
Plus it's always nice to meet like minded people.

Great hike with great people on the Inaugural venture of the Meditative Ramble. Thanks to everyone who came, experienced the interlude at the river in peace and quiet, and frolicked afterwards at Dunn. Look for the next Meditative venture around Oct. 19.

I am signed up for this and wondering if I could bring two additional people?

    September 16, 2013

    • LAWRENCE

Because so many people are already on the waiting list, probably not this month. Try for a future month's hike around full moon.

We've expanded the limit to 18; if you still want to bring your 2 guests, please RSVP asap.

I'm looking forward to this hike.
I'm sure it will enhance my spiritual side.

    • LAWRENCE

If it does, you'll be charged twice as much.

  • LAWRENCE

Thanks for un-RSVPing now if you can't make it Sat., rather than just not appearing. That helps people on wait list. See you on next hike.

I also need to give up my spot.

    September 18, 2013

  • Mike J

I will open my spot up so someone on waiting list can go. May have other plans that evening. Have a nice peaceful hike everyone. Sounds cool. :-)

  • LAWRENCE

You can bring up to 2 additional guests with your RSVP, as long as they are aware of the kind of hike it is; however, if you add them now, they will have to be on the waiting list, after others who have already signed up.
