Walk Historic Lowry Hill, Kenwood / Sidewalk Historic Home Tour

Route: We will meetup at the Spyhouse Coffee Shop on Hennepin Ave. at 24th Street.

DUE TO THE POTENTIAL SIZE OF OUR GROUP, IF IT'S NOT RAINING AT "11:00 A.M.", LET'S MEETUP JUST ACROSS THE STREET (24th St.) from the Spyhouse Coffee Shop outside, in the tiny SMITH TRIANGLE PARK. You'll see us standing there (WEARING NAME TAGS) BY THE Memorial Statue of Thomas Lowry.

From there we'll head west to Girard Ave and then north through East Isles to Lowry Hill & then west to Kenwood and back through Lowry Hill & East Isles.  We'll meander through the neighborhoods and then return to our starting point at The Spyhouse Coffee Shop.  After some R & R there, some of us may elect to continue walking in to the southern Lake Isles Area.

Length: Approximately 5.0 miles for the initial walk.

Duration: Based on weather conditions, you should expect approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete the initial walk. BE PREPARED FOR FREQUENT SLOW DOWNS OR STOPS TO ADMIRE THE HOUSES!

Route Conditions: City side walks, dry or wet all the way.  Some hills, some inclines, but mostly levels surfaces.

Difficulty: Most likely none for healthy people. Please check with your doctor if your concerned about your physical abilities and limitations concerning this event.

Meetup by or before 11:00 P.M. PLEASE be PROMPT! Check-in and get your name tag. We'll start walking at 11:10 A.M..

Be prepared to see some of Minneapolis's most historic and beautiful homes.

Watch for traffic all along the walk, especially in the cross-walks. Please yield to other pedestrians all along our route.

Weather Note: We will walk unless it's just too cold or too windy. If it is "just too cold or too windy" (or raining!) we can postpone the walk and just eat, "drink" and be merry right there, at the Spyhouse Coffee Shop!

Recommended to wear: Comfortable walking shoes or boots, proper socks and other clothing appropriate for the weather and expected activity level.

Please, No Kids, ABSOLUTELY No Dogs, No +1's: Only registered members of Twin Cities Hiking Meetup may attend this hike.

Carpool: Please post carpool options in comments section (below).

Optional socializing, food & drink afterwards at the Spyhouse Coffee Shop!
