Lebanon Hills - First hike of the year - Part 2

  • Jan 5, 2013 · 9:45 AM
  • Lebanon Hills Regional Park

Tracey has volunteered to host a second group for those on the waiting list, starting at 9:45 to explore the trails in the winter weather.  I believe this is the first hike that Tracey is organizing and she welcomes your assistance.  If you are willing to co-host with her - please note it in the comments.

At this time, we are unaware of what the trail conditions will be like on Saturday, use your best judgement in determining if you are comfortable/capable of hiking on possibly icy and slippery trails.

  • Route: Unpaved trails.  Exact route dependent on trail conditions

    Length: Approx. 4 - 5 miles

    Duration: Approximately 2 hours.

Surface: *CAUTION! Possibly wet, icy, snow covered and slippery! Grasses, soil, occasionally gravel/small rocks.

    Conditions: Some elevation changes.

Difficulty:  Moderate  *Please FIRST check with your doctor (BEFORE RSVP'ing "YES") if you are concerned about your physical capabilities/limitations.

Hike Time: Meetup at the Visitor's center at or before 9:45 A.M.. We will start hiking right at 9:45 Am

Scenery: Leafless woods, frozen lakes, snow, tourists.

Amenities: Free parking in the park, no sticker required.

Weather: At this time, looks to be about the (lower) teens.

Recommended:  Wear comfortable hiking foot gear with good traction (consider bringing snowshoes, yaktracks or stablicers), water, snack, clothing appropriate for the chilly/wet weather and activity level.

Please, No Kids, No Dogs, No +1's: Only registered members of Twin Cities Hiking Meetup may attend this hike.

I just joined a couple days ago and this was my first Meetup event ever. I' m so glad I went, it was a beautiful day, I enjoyed meeting everyone , we had a very fun group and I enjoyed the hike a lot.
I'll definitely come to more events. Thanks again Tracey for being willing to lead a second group!
