Shows are both Friday and Saturday at 7pm. We can decide if we want to go both days or just get a group together for one of the days. I'll post this on the discussion board and we can discuss which day works better for most people or if we want to get groups together on both days.

These are some great short films about outdoor adventure! Let's get a group together and check it out. We can meet at the Town Hall Brewery before the show and grab a drink, then head over to Wiley Hall together for the show.

National Geographic and The North Face Present The Best of the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour

Midwest Mountaineering is proud to host the festival's 34th anniversary world tour.

The Banff Mountain Film Festival (held in Banff, Alberta from October 31st to November 8th, 2009) accepts over three hundred mountain films into it's competition, the top fifty or so are screened throughout the festival. Every year the films feature a range of styles and themes, including climbing, skiing, kayaking, biking, adventure, culture and the environment.

Prizes are awarded in eight categories: Grand Prize, Climbing, Mountain Sports, Mountain Environment, Mountain Culture, Short Mountain Film, and Feature-Length Mountain Film, and People's Choice. The international jury will announce the Best of the Festival award winners at the awards ceremony on Sunday, November 9th.

The tour brings a selection of the best films from the festival right here to Midwest Mountaineering! Whether you are an experienced mountaineer or an armchair adventurer, this event is for everyone. Don?t miss the excitement!

* Tickets are $15.00 each ? or see both showings (completely different films) for $25.00 and save $5.00.
* Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 a.m.
* Tickets are available for purchase:

o All days prior to the outdoor adventure expo: In the store during regular store hours.
o During the outdoor adventure expo: In the store until 4:00 pm or after 5:00 pm in the Willey Hall Atrium.
* Doors open at 6:00. Seating is general admission. The Banff Mountain Film Festival is suitable for children ages 7 and older. Some content and language may not be appropriate for younger children. Every attendee must have a ticket. No food or drink allowed in the auditorium. No unauthorized animals or pets will be allowed in University buildings. Seeing Eye or hearing aide dogs under the guidance of a blind or hearing impaired person are allowed by law to access public buildings.
* All ticket sales are final, there are no refunds.
