1/26/12: Do you like the News and Events emails better than individual Event emails?

I have been consolidating announcements into one email every 7-10 days instead of announcing every event individually to try to reduce the number of emails coming from the TCRC Meetup. What do you think about this method?

1/26/12: HCR Guided Trip?

HCR = Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Arkansas. A quick 12 hr drive South to a working horse ranch surrounded by bluffs with lots of sport climbing. I have the idea to rent a passenger van and drive a group of 8 climbers there for 4 nights/3 days of camping and climbing. The approximate cost per person would be $150. This idea is aimed at more novice climbers looking to have an out-of-state adventure. The cost would cover van rental, gas, 4 nights camping fees, 3 days climbing fees. I would help you find climbs in your grade level and if you are not a sport climber or want to top rope above your grade level, I would hang ropes for you to climb on. If there are enough people interested in this, I would like to set it up. Keep in mind that you can totally do this all on your own. It is an easy place to get to and navigate. However, if you need guidance and motivation to make something like this happen, that is what I am offering. See questions below. sean

On our event calendar, would you like to see climbing gatherings/festivals that are out of state?

There are many events that I see that are out of state. Examples would be Rocktoberfest at Red River Gorge in Kentucky every October or Red Rocks Rendezvous in Nevada held at the end of March every year. Are events like this something that you would like to be made aware of here on TCRC Meetup?
