Please note new start times!!!
Spend your Sunday morning cruising Elm Creek Park!
(Edit: I will be out of town this week, so hopefully someone else is willing to host this ride and/or make it their own. Stay tuned....)
I will be hosting on this date...Beth
This is a two-part ride. The main ride starts at 10:00, and we will ride the long loop around Elm Creek (approx. 15 miles), keeping things nice and casual. Elm Creek is quite hilly, and speeds can vary widely, from 20-25 MPH (or faster!) downhill, to 5-6 MPH uphill. Average, or "flat", speeds will be around 14-16 MPH.
The second part of this ride is a "pre-ride" warm-up/work-out loop for those interested in riding a little harder, faster, and/or longer. We'll meet at 8:45, do a faster paced "sprint" around the same loop to get the blood flowing (18-22 MPH average?) with perhaps only one stop, and then meet the others back in the parking lot for the regular 10:00 ride. (Note: Because we need to get back by 10:00, we must be on the trail no later than 9:00 for this ride. Please don't feel bad if you show-up at 9:01 and we are gone.....
Ride one, ride both...it's all good!
I will not be riding the 9 am speedy ride but if others want to gather for that, please go on without me and we will see you in the parking lot at 10 am.
With regards to weather, I do not mind riding in the rain when I'm alone, but I will not do a group ride in the rain. If it is raining, please consider the ride(s) to be canceled.
Lastly, all are welcome, as the 10:00 AM ride is a "no drop" ride. Those that would prefer to ride ahead at a faster pace, please feel free. We (the slower riders) won't hold it against you- we'll just get to the the Maple Tavern a little bit later!
We may add the Coon Rapids Dam loop if the weather is fit. Beth
And "just in case", my cell number is[masked], Beth.
As always, please bring your safety gear, appropriate clothing, and a positive attitude!
See you at the park!
