7:15pm - Change Data Capture with Oracle and StreamSets
Mac Noland (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mac-noland-8712932/) is a Principal Solution Architect for phData, a Twin Cities services firm, focused on Hadoop. Mac has spent the last 20 years working as a software engineer and architect for a variety of projects in the legal, accounting, risk, farming and medical device industries.
In his talk, Mac will discuss how using StreamSets Data Collector's Oracle Change Data Capture (CDC) origin has greatly reduced the complexities of near real-time data ingestion from Oracle into Hadoop. Moreover, in addition to reducing the data lag between source and target, CDC also helps solve the difficult issues around hard deletes and record level updates with out timestamps.
