Return of WEEKLY GAMENIGHT! with social-distancing, at THE COMO LAKE PAVILION

Dock & Paddle at Como Lakeside Pavilion

Are you ready for social-distanced boardgames? I sure am, and I bet you are as bored of being unable to be social and safe from Covid-19 as I am. Let's try playing some boardgames in an outdoors setting. The Lake Como pavilion has a giant sheltered open-air space. That is about as close to ideal for us as it can get in Minnesota. There is even a new restaurant next door, with food and refreshments. This is my new version of the old weekly events from 2019. It's an experiment, so be ready to be SAFE, not sorry. You have to check in through the restaurant, but entry should be FREE! Bring a mask. Bring enough hand sanitizer to use liberally. Bring an attitude of caution, nobody wants to get sick. Bring some (quarantined) boardgames that haven't been played in ages. Bring yourself! ....unless you could be sick. Then, STAY HOME! I think we can start doing this sort of event again, IF we all are smart. IF we stay in small groups of players. IF we don't spread Covid-19 to all our friends. IF we follow all the basic health rules & use common sense. If nobody ruins it by being unsafe. So, let's see if I'm right, and if it's possible to enjoy something like before the pandemic. I hope so. I hope it works. I hope nobody is put at risk. I hope we can have fun, stay safe, and get back to normal soon. I hope to see you this Sunday. Be well, your Meetup host, Chris Hoppe ....P.S., if this isn't good for you, I will suggest trying ONLINE boardgames. Yeah, it's not the same. But it can be okay, as a substitute for face-to-face socialization. I go to www.boardgamearena.com Me and my friends play on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 5pm, usually. My avatar is "Wordmeme". Sometimes we voicechat or use the ZOOM meeting app. Drop by, say hi, give it a try. It might be a alternative possibility. ;-)
