My friend Tracy has a play in the Fringe Festival this year and so I thought I would set up an event to encourage people to come out and see it. The plan is to go this coming Sunday. We'll start out with brunch at Fabulous Fern's, meeting there at 11am. They truly do have a fabulous brunch buffet (check out the menu at http://fabulousferns.com/brunchmenu/ ) for a fairly reasonable price of $13.95.
Being a buffet, we should be able to wrap up brunch before too long and then head over to the Gremlin Theater in St. Paul for the 1pm show. The play is a comedy about two dueling noblewomen (based on an actual historical event) and consequently is filled with rapier wit, figuratively and literally. Fringe Festival tickets are normally $12 each, plus you need a Fringe Button which is $4. However, if you join me on Sunday, I'll get you in for just $10.
Fabulous Fern's is in the Blair Arcade building on the corner of Selby and
Western in St. Paul and the Gremlin Theater is on University and Raymond near 280 (so from Fern's we'll take Dale to 94 to 280 to University). Fern's has its own parking lot while parking for the theater is on the street. The play is about an hour and by 2pm you'll be ready to head back home and watch more of the Olympics.
If you plan to do just the brunch or just the play, mention it in your RSVP.
