It is been a long while since we have had our last meetup. Our group will start meeting again as circumstance permits. Our next meeting topic will be about "dualistic thinking".
Buddhism is sometimes referred to as the Middle Way, a path of moderation. In order to follow this Way, and understand it, we must be aware of the extremes that our minds habitually visit and how this affects our daily life. When we are not aware that dualistic thinking is occurring we fail to see that we are focusing outside of ourselves and not being present to our lives and our priorities.
There will be a presentation, practice time, and a period for questions.
The group will be led by Constance Casey, a teacher in the lineage of Jack Kornfield and the Venerable Mahassi Sayadaw, both teachers in the Theravada tradition. Her background also includes almost 30 years in recovery and contemplative Christian practices. Her primary focus is on how to apply Buddhist values in everyday life.
