Based on responses the date that works for the most people is Friday, Dec. 21. Sincere apologies to all for whom that date does not work.
For everyone who wrote me about potluck details I'll email you directly to arrange. I've only received one suggestion for an additional reading. Take a look at the reading list and let me know if you'd like to read any of them. Will try to make as many people happy as possible :)
This will be at my house in uptown, and when I have a final tally I'll send the address via email to attendees. There is plenty of street parking available for free where I live so no worries there.
Now for the fun details...
1) will be a potluck - snacks, main dishes, desserts, and beverages (both of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety) --> will help coordinate this so there's more than chips and dip :)
2) Tentative reading list includes the following material to be read by volunteers (we'll discuss): The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, Holidays by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Winter Stores by Charlotte Bronte, Dust of Snow by Robert Frost, The Snowman by Wallace Stevens, Winter Tress by William Carlos Williams, White-Eyes by Mary Oliver, Snow Day by Billy Collins, Great Plains in Winter by Ted Kooser, A Visit from St. Nicholas by Clement Mark Moore (twas the night before Christmas - a good way to close out the evening perhaps)
If you have any suggestions please let me know!
