Let's hike an easy one to find.

This hike is definitely for ALL abilities.  There is ample parking.  The trails around the basin are groomed and easy and there are also trails that extend back around the lake.  There is also a playground for those with kids and tennis courts if you are so inclined.

Paul - Dogwood and Words was wonderful and at 3.5 mi perfect for my dog and me. She will do a group rate if we can get 5 or more to go and she is a wonderful historian and made the walk really fun. Dogs can go unleashed tho I didn't let my dog go off leash. Let me know if you'd like more info.

I think I see a field trip (no pun intended) in the future for a walk there. If anyone else is following this chat, let me know what you think. I'll see about adding a link for info on Dogtown.

Mojo was thrilled to go on a "real" walk as he doesn't get out much- great to meet you and your dogs as well Paul!

Are you going to DOG TOWN?

Yes - what do you know/think about bringing my dog to dogtown? You have been?

I haven't been, but I have read about it and I would like to go. I'm sure Tikvah will enjoy the walk. Be sure to check out the ingraved stones there.

Sorry, friend here from out of state but going on a dog-friendly (paid) hike out in Gloucester tomorrow instead and will report on what it's like (ghost town and Great Depression artifacts place!) Looking forward to hanging out with all of you and my trusty mutt, Tikvah.

Unfortunately Ellie, weekday mornings are a little tough for me as I work.

too bad - had the impression you might have been retired or working from home. . .

Paul, what about weekday mornings for those of us with a bit of "leisure time" earned? I would love a midweek am walk with my critter and new friends.

Hello Gisela, I'm sure we could swing some Saturday hikes, especially if that is easier for others as well. To the other members, please let me know what you think.

Question :) Is it ok for us to come even though my guy is still learning his manners? Loki is 7 months old and big at 65 lbs. He LOVES other dogs and people of all ages, but we are still working on curbing his enthusiasm and greeting people appropriately, not trying to knock them over in effort to lick them to death. I just want to make sure it is ok before we came. I TOTALLY understand if people prefer e to wait till he is a bit older and calmer, but I am looking for every socialization opportunity we can get :)

Love his name... God of Mischief

And living up to it very well! He's learning and once we get through this stubborn adolescence he will be great! I just dont want to subject people to him unless they are ok with it...his biggest fault is he loves everyone a bit TOO much!

Hi Carolyn, you sure can bring the little guy and I can help you with his manners if you like.

Great! Hopefully one of these will fit our schedule:). And he's not so little....he's 65 lbs of mouth and waggy tail lol

Hi, any plans for Saturday hikes? Sunday's are usually hard for me.

I'm going to need to skip this weekend coming up as my company is having and event at a very dog friendly luxury apartment complex in Methuen. I've never seen a place that has dog waste stations placed throughout the property as well as a fenced in park area for residents' dogs.
So we will pick things up the following Sunday. You may need to bundle up. :-)

Hi, just hiked 5 miles there around the lake last weekend; foliage busting out everywhere! I have to get my grandson at noon but maybe my pup and I can meet up and walk a bit with you to start to say hello before I have to run off to grandmama the little guy!
