About the workshop

Less than one week to go until UCD Bristol 8 on Wednesday 16th May, at the Edo offices (when arriving, please use the south entrance of the building to get in). Paul Boag was due to speak, but has had to pull out due to personal reasons, so People for Research’s Business Development Director (and event co-organiser) Jess Lewes will take the stage to present a workshop on user recruitment.

We’ll invite Paul Boag to join us in the future, so keep those questions on ice!

Although the list of attendees is currently full, please do still join the waiting list if you are interested in attending.

User recruitment is an illusive art: stakeholders rarely see the value and often think it is easy. Anyone who has tried it knows it is time consuming and can be like an uphill struggle on a treadmill trying to get full attendance at your research. This workshop aims to share lessons learnt over 25 years in the business of recruiting people to take part in research, including how to write a recruitment brief or a screener.

This workshop is a work in progress, ahead of being ran at the User Research London conference in June, so you will be getting a sneak preview for free!

About the speaker

Jess Lewes is a specialist in user recruitment, who has been developing new ways to approach and improve user recruitment over the last five years at People for Research to match the expectations of the user experience sector. To counterbalance the lack of formal training in the user recruitment sector, Jess will share insight on how to apply a user-centred design mindset to the research process. The goal is to help you get the best from the participants and provide practical tips for how to embrace recruitment as part of your research.
