What and where:

*UCD Bristol is organised by Natural Interaction and People For Research*
A note about RSVPS:
Please note that we're trying hard to stop no-shows so that our growing monthly wait listed guests get a chance to attend. If you RSVP but your plans change, please make an effort to update your Meetup profile at least 3 hours prior to the event.
We've been tracking no-shows for the last few months and from this event, if you've no-showed more than 3 times, you'll be placed at the bottom of the list with priority given to wait listers.
We've got three speakers this month covering two fantastic topics:
Improving UX through animation and interaction - Harry Cobbold
We’ll take a look at some of the ways which animation can be used to enhance the user experience and why it’s important. Everything from creating a seamless user flow through to boosting engagement.
About the speaker:
Harry Cobbold is the founder of Haio, a digital design agency which works with startups, scale-ups and SME's on digital product design and builds.
Case study talk:
Sharpening our research craft - Ben Cubbon & Jessica Dilworth
Sharpening our research craft means taking the time to renew ourselves and our skills. We’ve been practising different ways in which we can become better researchers by playing with new research methods and conducting critiques on our existing ones. We’ll share what we’ve learnt about what it means to sharpen our craft.
We'll also use the time to further learn how we can all sharpen our craft, hosting a discussion to learn about other techniques.
About the speakers:
Ben is User Research Practice Lead at OVO Energy. He was previously in government at HM Courts and Tribunals Service, understanding the needs of all users to inform the design of a reformed justice system, and at the Office for National Statistics. He has a strong methodological background and a master's in investigative psychology.
Jessica is a User Researcher at OVO Energy. She comes from the worlds of literature and museums but is now focused on this world's problem of preventing climate change.
