Details

This is the first in a series of mid week conditioning hikes to keep our body in shape for the bigger weekend hikes. Wildwood Regional Park is a beautiful place that has a little of everything from waster fall, soaring cliff, deep canyon to unique rock formation. It is a great place to get your feet wet in hiking. It is always fun to get some exercise and have fun company along the trails.

US Hiking hosts many incredible hikes and events, and it is always a blast! I hope some Ventura County locals will join us.

Please Chip In:

US Hiking is a social group for hikers. Our events are organized like house parties. Like a regular house party, it costs money to host one. It is customary for guests to help out any way they can to lessen burden on the host. That is the same for hikes. You can bring food, provide carpool or chip in to help out.

Suggested Event Contribution: $ 5 (Chip in link)

Trail description:

Wildwood Park is a gem to explore. On the north, the imposing presense of Mount Clef Ridge humbles us. Tn the south, Arroyo Conejo has carved out a V-shaped canyon over millions of years. In between is an endless span of grassland that reminds us of the old West. Standing amid, one could easily picture a stagecoach running by.

Paradise Falls is at the bottom of the canyon. It drops 40 feet into a large pool along the Arroyo Conejo. Lizard Rock stands solitary on the western end. It is the distant landmark that calls out to hikers.

We plan to explore the entire park via Mesa, Santa Rosa, Stagecoach, Lizard Rock, Eagle Point, Wildwood, Tepee and Moonridge trail. In this hike, we will explore every trail in the park.
