What we're about

This Meetup group was created by the UU Metro NY Racial and Social Justice Consultant to give us a chance to get active in our communities and work to transform systems. It's now being hosted by Interfaith Impact of NYS, the official Unitarian Universalist State Advocacy Network for New York. The host has changed. The goals remain the same.

We work for the common good through progressive religious advocacy.

We hold monthly internet/telephone calls to discuss and coordinate advocacy for and against pending bills in the NY Legislature, communications with the Governor and his staff, and advocacy with other state policy makers. We work alone and with allied organizations to bring our transformative moral values to the table as laws and policies are developed.

We do policy, not politics. We encourage congregations to do the work of compassion and justice in the policy arena. We provide resources to help with that (www.interfaithimpactnys.org). Together we do make a difference.
