In late 2017, Uber was nearly a year into a complete redesign of its driver-facing mobile app. This talk will describe the research program they designed and executed to support the app’s global Beta launch, which specifically aimed to “Build Together” with the involved Beta drivers. In this case study, Eduardo will discuss how success in this project came from creating space for others to create, engage with, and act on evidence from the field. Daan van Klinken - Senior UX Designer & Founder - Flow Daan is the founder of Flow, a PSD2 FinTech startup. They help freelancers and consumers set up their financial autopilot which results into guilt free spending on the things you find important. This is achieved by offering smart rules for your bank accounts that automatically divide your money. Daan left his design agency job to start freelancing so that he could start his own tech startup. This talk shall explore transitioning from employed to freelance, how to navigate these radically different contexts, and how you can do the same.

Olga Mishyna - Product Designer - Adyen Olga has more than 10 years of experience in building brands, solving UX and UI challenges for companies like ING, KLM, Calvin Klein and many more. She believes in simplicity and believes in building a strong connection between businesses and customers. Olga is currently is working at Adyen, one of the most innovative Fintech players, on a mission to disrupt the payment industry. Her work is based on holistic approach and design thinking. During her talk she will showcase parts of the projects that she worked on, giving a glance at the "kitchen" of the fintech giants and disruptors and exploring our ways of solving problems while keeping a balance between business and users needs. Robin Fransz - UX Designer - OK Robin Fransz is currently working as a Graphic & UX Designer in the marketing department and product team at OK IT. Originally working as a gaming journalist at age 16 Robin created content for the largest PlayStation related website until late 2017. Payment apps have been around for years in big parts of the world, but for some reason the Dutch still hesitate to switch from a physical wallet to a digital one. This talk will explore a case study about the extremely difficult road to launching a payment app in the Netherlands, what it’s like to work in a fintech-startup and what the (near) future has in store for us. Emotion-driven usability testing; testing a prototype for T-Mobile based on neurofeedback - This talk will show how a sales funnel prototype he designed for T-Mobile was tested with a neurofeedback usability test, what the results were of this test and how he applied the learnings in his final design.
