UX Design Research Part 2 - how to translate user insights into actionable goals

  • 6 days ago · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

This hands-on course is built on the previous UX Playground Research course, where a group of researchers started with a project brief (developing a cocktail app) and used a series of methods to collect user data from real people.

In this course, you will use the data to analyse and gain insights into user behaviour and preferences, while translating findings into actionable goals. This is an important step for everyone who needs to take data and turn it into design objectives. These methods can help you to improve existing, as well as new products, and can aid development, of both websites and applications.

Learn how to use rich data previously collected from surveys, interviews and observations and develop an experience map, in order to identify user pain points and design opportunities. We will be exploring ways that can help you to group complex information more efficiently, better recognise patterns and clusters, while translating insights into goals. These goals will form the basis for developing innovative ideas and solutions, which we will be focusing on in a dedicated course in January.

An invaluable opportunity to learn an important UX skill, the theory behind it and how to apply it to a real-world project.

By the end of the course you should be able to:

• Create an experience map to lay out and analyse research data

• Translate existing data into actionable goals

• Gain insights into user behaviour and preferences

• Document insights and present findings in a coherent way

• Demonstrate UX research skills to current and further employers

How is this course different from the free meetup?

The meetups are designed to introduce you to a new UX design topic every month, providing you with a platform to learn and network. Exercises are brief and simple, allowing you to apply what you have learned during the presentation. Due to the format, there is very little time to provide personal feedback to all attendees.

The UX Playground courses take this idea much further. You will be given tasks that are more complex and based on specific challenges. The aim is to learn new skills by developing a new, or improving an existing product, similar to how you would do in a real project.

Is this course right for me?

If you are looking to change career, have been struggling with applying UX design, or just wish to expand your portfolio, then this course is definitely for you. The work created and experience gained, will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of UX design to potential clients and future employers.

What format does this course have?

The course is a combination of presentations, Q&A, practical exercises, tasks and group assignments. The course is intensive and in addition to the weekly sessions, you will have to dedicate approximately 2-3 hours to complete exercises and tasks. You will get regular feedback from the course instructor, which will help you to progress in your learning.

If you have any questions please let me know.

I look forward to another exciting course and hope you will be part of this journey.
