Merry U-Xmas Brisbane UXers

Hi Brisbane UXers

I'd like to take the opportunity to close off the year by thanking everyone for being involved in making the year a great success for our group.

Our little group has really taken off this year. We've gone from being just semi-regular small nights, to a consistently healthy sized, diverse group of engaged regulars.

It's been great to welcome all the new members. At current count we have 110 members, with that number continuing to grow.

We've had some great highlights over the year, including:

  • An inspiring evening spent chatting with Dr Genevieve Bell
  • The UX Australia conference happening locally
  • A diverse round of Pecha Kucha presentations
  • The creation of the exciting new ZooFC concept during the Agile UX Game zoo building.
  • Some random drunken conversations at last week's xmas drinks.

After the break we'll be aiming to schedule our first meetup of the new year around late Jan/early Feb. At Michael Zrobok's suggestion we'll be discussing how real world interactions are changing the nature of UX research.

If anyone else has any other suggested or requested topics for the next year please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. We'll always looking for interesting topics to discuss.

For anyone who hasn't seen this yet, here is a little bit of worthwhile UX reading for the holiday -

I hope everyone has an enjoyable break and we'll see you in the new year.

Merry Christmas
Ben Melbourne
