Announcing a new Meetup for LA - Usability Professionals' Association Chapter!
What: Guerrilla Research: Making User Centered Design Happen!
When: Tuesday, May 18,[masked]:00 PM
5151 State University Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90032
We hear it all the time: "It would be nice to do user research, but we just don't have the money or time for this project." Of course, as usability professionals, we know it will end up taking a lot longer and costing more money without user input during the design phase, but somehow that logic keeps getting lost.
So our first Meetup of 2010 is titled "Guerrilla Research." In it we will look at the key points in the design process to include user input, and how we can weave in the voice of the customer at minimal expense and impact on overall project timing. The evening will include a panel discussion with real life case studies and war stories. By the way, we are still looking for one last panelist, so let me know if you're interested in sharing your own story!
Our hosts will be the AIGA Club at Cal State University Los Angeles, and we will be meeting in their lovely new University Student Union Building. Pizza and drinks will be served. Primitive Spark (www.primitivespark.com) will be sponsoring the event, allowing us to offer it free of charge. Parking information will be posted shortly, so check back here for more info.
Join us on May 18 for a fun, inspiring and educational evening on making user research happen in any organization!
