Brief description below and full description on KROP

Metro is seeking a talented and motivated web designer to assist in the daily design, production and administration of Metro’s websites. As part of our Interactive Design team, the Assistant Web Designer works with multi-disciplinary teams (web content editors, marketing account executives, designers, department staff, technical staff) to design mission critical content for our sites in a high-profile, high-traffic, fast-paced creative environment. You will design web and mobile user interfaces, flash ads and interactives, and new web features supporting Metro agency goals. Interested applicants must be available to work 40 hours per week for one year; on-site at Metro's downtown headquarters and will report to the Interactive Design & Strategy Manager.

Scope of Work
• Web Design: design / create web pages, components, and graphics within the Metro design guidelines. This includes visual, and user interface design. You should be familiar with web standards, modern techniques, and Section 508 compliance. Metro also utilizes Flash to produce interactive maps, data visualizations, and modules.

• Interaction Design: design / create new interactive features, page component, and web modules. Produce wireframes and flowcharts to demonstrate user flows and interactive components. You should be familiar with HTML, CSS, user interface toolkits, and javascript toolkits.

• Web Production: work with webmasters to prepare and hand-off web assets. This may also include legacy Intranet pages and sites (static web pages). You should use best practices to create ADA/Section 508 elements, optimize your web files, and use web authoring tools (Adobe CS Suite).

• Metrics: use web metric tools as part of your design process to improve customer experience. Metro uses Google Analytics, Wufoo, PollDaddy, and Survey Monkey.

• Documentation: Capture web guidelines / best practices and project status using a wiki tool.
