02/13 UX Speed Dating | North Park

As part of this year's vision to create better connections in the UX community we are hosting simultaneous events around the county that help you get to know the peers and possible mentors right in your neighborhood.

While putting 300 people in a room like we did in January is fun, it doesn't lend itself to creating those quality relationships that help you in your career long term. So, in honor of Valentines Day, we are hosting small-scale events, throughout the county, using a mock speed dating format that allows you to quickly make connections in your community.

Here's how it will work:

6:30-7:00:
Meet at the location and socialize. Make sure you meet the volunteers or board members running the show.

7:00-7:45:
You'll be given a set of questions and paired off with someone you don't know, then be given 5 mins to learn as much about each other as possible. You'll have 9 rounds to meet others.

7:30-8:30:
More socializing and continued conversation

A temporary Slack channel will be created for each location so that you can follow up with contacts after the event.

This is a 21 and over, no-host event. You will be responsible for your own food and drink.
