Mobile devices are outselling and outnumbering traditional computing devices, and designing for multiple screens has become the norm rather than the exception. Adaptive design, responsive design, the mobile first initiative…these are just a few of the topics that currently drive and challenge our industry. But what’s next? New technologies and devices entering the market could usher in yet more changes in the way we design. Are these new technologies just hype or are they the cusp of new era of computing that brings with it changes to our processes? One thing is for sure - technology is advancing exponentially faster than it did even five years ago and the way we practice user experience design will have to change right along with it.
Are you interested in the future of design or wondering about the next design challenges you will face? Join us for a panel discussion with three local innovators on the front line of technology. We will start with a panel discussion on the current and future state of design. After that, feel free to join in by asking their opinions and sharing your own.
Greg is the COO and cofounder of Tenfold Social Training. Between his clients at Tenfold and his experience working with cutting edge companies as VP of Experience Design at Digitaria, Greg has gained unique insight into what the future of technology and design hold for your clients.
With a background in Fine Arts and Industrial Design, Amber splits her time between the design and technology worlds. She brings a unique perspective to the conversation being a UX Designer at Websense, and a researcher and educator at UCSD’s Performative Nanorobotics Lab
Phil is a Design Strategist at Intuit serving as one of the innovation leads for their company. He was one of the first experience designers pushing for mobile applications at Intuit and spends much of his time thinking about what is coming next.
Our April Meetup will be hosted by Parallax Branding + Interactive in Encinitas. Parallax has been a sponsor of UX Speakeasy from the very beginning and we are stoked to be returning to their space for another meetup. Be sure and thank them yourselves when you are there.
We are limiting the attendees to 50 so we don't overwhelm Parallax's space and *sorry* there are no +1s for the event. Please keep your RSVP up to date if you have any change of plans.
