Redux events bring the Interaction conference talks, themes and ideas back to the local IxDA groups to reach as many people as possible. A diverse team is not built by cutting and pasting rather it comes about through conscious assembling different individuals and personalities. Come and meet some of these amazing Designers, Coders and Unicorns that make an impact on their team and company’s products. Speakers: Designer: Shiae Park is a staff UI/UX designer at Qualcomm. She focuses on creating meaningful and intuitive user experience through design in various area such as mobile phone, web apps, wearables, automotive and more. Coder: Amanda Pattridge is an application developer and team dev lead at TechFlow. She has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and worked as a lab technician and ESL teacher before transitioning to software engineering in 2016 Unicorn: Elina Kim is a Sr Design Technologist at Intuit. She is a design thinker at heart who enjoys designing in code. She is passionate about bringing ideas to life using different prototyping tools and promoting the “show and tell” principle.     A couple of times a year we like to have private functions for the wonderful volunteers who keep UX Speakeasy going. This is an all-volunteer led group so we think they deserve a little special something in honor of their hard work. This is a closed/private event for volunteers only.   • Design for the Homeless. Ideation workshop

    Design for the Homeless (d4h) is a program that gives designers from all disciplines an opportunity to contribute a small percentage of their professional time in 2019 to researching, concepting, and designing solutions that improve the lives of people experiencing homelessness. Over 1,000 designers have signed up so far to participate in this program! If you want more information go to https://designforthehomeless.org/ UX Speakeasy is doing its part by devoting our April event to this worthy cause. During the event you will be part of a design team collaborating on ideation of design solutions, based on data gathered both locally and globally, to ultimately provide a better life for the less fortunate. Bring whatever tools you need to do creative work (notebooks, laptops etc) Meet people. Have fun. Do good! For April our gracious host is Walmart Labs who are letting us use their fantastic space in Carlsbad, just off the 5 with plenty of parking.
