UX Crunch at Home: The Evolving Work Culture

Details

The pandemic is the most globally unifying crisis of a generation and we've all felt the strain on our personal lives and freedom. It's also completely transformed the way that many businesses operate and consequently, the relationships we have with our peers and teams?

This new environment throws up lots of interesting questions about the way we operate effectively and evolve the working culture, to maintain a creative atmosphere and collaborative environment when we're conducting business at a distance. How do you onboard someone virtually and, as we emerge from the pandemic, what will the future of work look like?!

Join us and leaders the teams at PayPal, Google and Akendi, who have been tackling these challenges head on are evolving their work culture, now and for the future. Welcoming three great talks and a panel discussion, we will deliver practical tips and explore their shared experience, to offer advice to build a successful work culture of your own.

Not Business As Usual

As the pandemic has unfolded, teams have been forced to reevaluate everything: how they work, how they collaborate, how they live. In this talk, we’ll tell you through our continuing journey to understand and meet our team and maintain culture in these trying times:

How we sought to understand the unique nature of every individuals’ experience
Our process of creating space for our teams in an ever-changing landscape
Key rituals and activities to ensure focus, enable collaboration
Surprising opportunities to inspire our team and stay close enabled by a remote world.

WFH in a UX consultancy; what we lost, what we gained and what we keep

Like for many, the changes for our small-ish UX consultancy (a team of 15) have been deep and wide as a result of working from home. It’s increasingly hard to imagine what made us really us as a team before covid as everything has changed so much. But as we are starting to see the signs of a final stretch (for now) I find myself wondering more and more: what are the lasting changes and what will go down into history as ‘the things we did during covid’ especially as soon as we have more choices again in how we collaborate in our own teams and with our clients. The results of this exploration surprised me.
