Sophia has managed multiple technical product disciplines in both big and small firms, With product management as her core skill, she will walk you through her journey as a Wonder Woman in Tech. Sophia Vicent is the founding member of the Technical Program Management team at Uber and built the team of 70 people over her five and a half year tenure at Uber. The TPM team partners with engineering and product to deliver complex cross-functional programs in infrastructure, product, security and compliance. She also manages technical learning for Uber Engineering, which includes the Technical Writing team and Engineering Training Team. Before coming to Uber she took ten years “off” to raise her daughter, now 16. Prior to this break she worked for several startups, including NetGravity, which was acquired by DoubleClick and (subsequently bought by Google to provide internet ad serving solutions). Prior to that, Peter was a Director of Product Management at Google, responsible for Google Wallet and consumer payments. He led a team of 9 product managers directly and 10+ in the platform, six UX designers, and 200+ engineers to help launch solutions including All cards in your Wallet, Pay By Gmail, Wallet Objects, Google Wallet 2.0 and the Google Wallet Card. He was also the CEO and Board Member of Google Payments Corporation (GPC), the regulated entity within Google through which all the payments for Google Play and Google Wallet flow. Prior to Google, for 8 years, he was Chief Product Officer at Yodlee, a technology and applications platform powering dynamic, cloud-based innovations for digital financial services. At Yodlee he led the Engineering, Technology, Product Management, Professional Services and Data Operations teams both in the US and in India. He is also currently a Member of the Advisory Board at Boyden NY. Peter has also lead Product and Engineer at Nokia for Enterprise Mobility and mobile email, and been CTO at several startups involved in Supply Chain (Mercari) and Online Accounting (BaPort). Peter grew up in Australia and moved to the US to do his first startup in 1993, building a core banking system that still runs today. They went public in 1996. Peter has an MBA from the University of Maryland.
