What we're about

This group is a welcoming community for ukulele players of all levels, where we come together to play, sing, and share songs. Our fun gatherings mostly take place on the West Side and sometimes include food and drink. You are encouraged to bring songs to share so that we can all learn them together. Some guidance is available to beginners, and more advanced players have the opportunity to take music breaks and lead songs. All styles of music are welcome. There's nothing like the sound of ukuleles strumming and voices singing together! Join us!

Brooklyn Ukulele Festival

Come on out for the 2nd Annual Brooklyn Ukulele Festival! The fun starts June 14th with a Midsummer Night's Uke Soiree on a private rooftop in Bushwick overlooking the Manhattan skyline. There will be live performances, a play-a-long/sing-a-long, raffles, wine, and horderves! Come dressed in your summer-solstice attire and don't forget the uke! Then on June 15th, learn new techniques on the ukulele with our various workshops. Workshops include how to make arrangements for the ukulele, how to create different strumming patterns, songwriting for the ukulele, and how to sing effectively while playing the ukulele! The festival will end with a Flashmob! We'll rehearse a song or two, and then board a train to a spot in the city and perform a song from the festival! Should be a wonderful way to start the summer!
