Upcoming Ukulele Retreat:
Here's the email we received for information:
Mark your calendars for next year's West Coast Ukulele Retreat, the most fun you can have with your 'ukulele on! And pre-register! Space sould be tight this year!
Staffing is still in progress, but you can count on a return of Dave Egan's amazing Recording Studio, jumping evening entertainment with Gerald Ross' Flea by Night Band, more fabulous workshops with a cup of tea and our friend from across the pond, Phil Doleman, and more of Jim D'Ville's 'ukulele antics.
And, because you asked for it, there will be more opportunities for song circles and "impromptu" jam sessions with Rhan Wilson & Rick Zeek, songleaders extraordinaire from Santa Cruz.
And, because a lot of you asked for an extra day before the retreat, we're looking into that, as well, for Wednesday, May 16. This will give us an opportunity to offer a couple of intimate Master Classes with our lead instructors on the morning of the 17th. (Note: this would be entirely optional for retreat attendees.)
HOWEVER: With our retreat and the "Mental Health Professionals" (best Flash Mob audience, ever) Asilomar will be completely booked for that weekend, which means that it may be difficult, if not impossible, to pick up extra rooms if we need them for folks who do not register early. (FYI: For the last two years we have had to pick-up 8 "extra" rooms.) So, to that end, I am extending last year's "early-bird" registration fee of $589 to folks who mail me a $100 deposit/person toward registration by October 20, 2016. You can print the Pre-Registration Deposit form, here. (Please note: this is pre-registration for the retreat only. If we are unable to secure a room at Asilomar for you, your deposit will be returned.)
In case you're still undecided, perhaps this little reminder from Jim D'Ville of all the fun we had last year will help you.
West Coast Ukulele Retreat 2016 That's it for now! We'll keep you posted as the staff for 2017 gets finalized. And don't forget to practice!
Missing you all and all the fun we've had,
Elaine de Mann
