Hello Ukesters!
I am happy to announce the Summer Series of Ukulele Lessons for Beginners, starting 22 January, 2019 The course is designed for people who would like to play the ukulele but don’t know where to start. This easy paced program consists of 6 lessons which will give you all the basics – how to tune the strings, most frequently used chords, strumming techniques and how to play a variety of songs. The 1½ hour lessons are sequential, so there will need to be some commitment to attend all six lessons.
By the end of the course you should be able to confidently play about 20 chords and dozens of songs.
The course is led by Michael Rosenberg, a qualified teacher with many years of guitar and ukulele experience. He is co-organiser and musical director of Ukuleles Canberra and URoC (Ukulele Republic of Canberra) and had taught ukulele to more than 1400 students over the last eight years.
The lessons will be held on Tuesday evenings, from 7:00 – 8:30 at Brindabella Room, St James Church, Curtin.
The dates are:
January 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, March 5 NOTE No lesson Feb 26
The cost per lesson is $20 which covers hall hire and all notes and, if you wish, an upfront payment for all 6 lessons is $110.
Please make sure you RSVP on the club website to ensure a place for yourself as the class size is limited to 15 participants. Do not just turn up without RSVPing.
It is preferable to have your own ukulele, but if you don’t, please contact Michael on[masked] or through the website any time to take advantage of a 25% discount at the music shop.
If you are unsure as to whether or not you want to commit to buying a ukulele before you know whether you like playing it, I have one that I hire out. Ask me for details
To enrol, simply click the “I’m going” box in this email, or click the red heading of this email and RSVP on the page.
Hope to see you there.
Michael Rosenberg
