I started playing ukulele again in March 2009 after decades away from the instrument and playing guitar since 1983. I can also play some bass, diatonic harmonica and recorder; and muck around on things like kalimba, percussion, etc.

What Jay L. is saying about this Meetup Group

Friendly, open, warm, inviting, fun, inclusive. The kanikapila style of meeting means that all genres of music and all skill levels are catered for, just YOU bring the music YOU like! More advanced players have the opportunity to perform for the group. Beginners are welcome to perform too. The group is big enough for smaller groups with special interests to form. The kanikapila style encourages a very open democracy, so that there are less opportunities for big egos and narrow mindedness. The oldest ukulele group in Canberra!
