A special event at Currumbin RSL Club. This falls in the expo being held during Veterans Health Week, from 22nd of September to the 29th. You will just need a valid ID to enter the club. The format will be the same as the normal format at the All Sports Club. Let's go and inspire some veterans. A big screen KaraUkey jam session with lyrics and chords displayed on the screen as usual. A full list of the KaraUkey songs is on the website http://www.karaukey.com/select-a-set.html The Songs we play will vary, with some fairly easy songs for newbies and a few more challenging songs for the regulars. For complete beginners it will help if you know the C F and G7 chords, then add G, D, A7 and C7. We are open to singers and players at all levels from beginners to advanced players. Or you can just sit back and enjoy the music. There is a $5 fee for players.

What we're about

Our Aims are To :

Have fun singing and playing as a group using a big screen projector and KaraUkey (http://www.karaukey.com) to display the lyrics and chords.
Improve our ukulele and singing skills, with a variety of songs.
Spread the joy of music.
Just have fun playing the ukulele or singing.
Assist aspiring Ukulelians in their learning process.

Why Singing and The Uke?

The ukulele is the happiest, most accessible, and easiest string instrument to learn and is therefore the perfect sing along instrument . Simply put the ukulele is fun to play and easy to sing with!

Even if you are an absolute beginner, the chances are we will have you playing your first simple song in less than 5 minutes. You can then start working your way through the various songbooks etc on the website, though you will need to join the group to access the growing database of learning aids and songs available via the Pages button.

Playing a musical instrument is a lot of fun, playing with a group of like minded enthusiasts is even more fun, so why not come and give it a go, it is free to join.

What You Should Do:

Come to a meetup and see how easy and fun it is to play the ukulele, or just enjoy the singing! I have a few extra ukes people can try.

Whether you have been singing or strumming for years, or just interested in learning to play the uke or join in the singing, come to one of our meetups, players singers and beginners are all welcome, or just come to listen to the music.
