Fall Foliage Hike, Apple Picking and Wine

Our day will start as we set off up the Hudson Valley to one of the scenic state parks in the area - perfect timing for experiencing the changing colors and cooler temperatures.  Rugged mountains, placid lakes and bubbling streams await us as we get out into the "country".

Please note that you must register and book this trip on the Outdoor Connections website to reserve your spot. See link below ....

Today we will hike on a combination of old woods roads and hiking trails as we gradually make our way thru beautiful forested surroundings, absorbing the spendor of nature during it's most colorful season.  We will hike for about 3 hours with plenty of stops along the way for sightseeing and picture taking (you will definitely want to bring your camera) including a great spot to enjoy our picnic lunch.

After our morning hike we will begin the second part of our day by venturing out to a local orchard and winery in the foothills of the Hudson Valley. First, we will set off into the pick-your own orchards in search for some tasty apples. The orchard grows several varieties that ripen from early September to mid October and we will have our pick of their best. So go ahead and fill that twenty pound bag - it's included on this trip!  It goes without saying that these are not your common supermarket varieties that are grown in mass, sit in the store for extended periods, and are otherwise tasteless. To put it simply, it’s their taste that sets them apart from what you’ll find in the stores…and you can’t beat the freshness of picking your own…and did we mention that it’s fun too?

After apple picking we will head on over to the vineyard to taste some of their award winning wines, relax, enjoy, and socialize a bit. What a great way to round out the day.

All trip details and final trip itinerary will be e-mailed to all registered guests the week of the trip date.

Hi, I'm completely crazy about hiking and apples, but I'm unable to drink alcohol. Is there an option to opt out of paying for the wine tasting part?
