On Nov. 20, we have the rare opportunity to get together with Travis Oliphant, CEO and Co-Founder of Continuum Analytics. Since 1997, he has worked extensively with Python for numerical and scientific programming, most notably as the primary developer of the NumPy package, and as a founding contributor of the SciPy package.
Please note, this is a FREE event near SuperComputing 2013.
This will be a combined Meetup for members of:
• Univ. of Colorado Computational Science and Engineering
• HPC & GPU Supercomputing Group of Denver/Boulder (http://www.meetup.com/HPC-GPU-Supercomputing-Group-of-Denver-Boulder/)
• HPC & GPU Supercomputing Group of Denver/Boulder (http://www.meetup.com/HPC-GPU-Supercomputing-Group-of-Northern-Colorado)
Travis has a Ph.D. from the Mayo Clinic and B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University. He is also the author of the definitive "Guide to NumPy (http://csc.ucdavis.edu/~chaos/courses/nlp/Software/NumPyBook.pdf)".
As CEO of Continuum Analytics, Travis engages customers, develops business strategy, and guides technical direction of the company. He actively contributes to software development and engages with the wider open source community in the Python ecosystem.
It is sure to be a great evening! Please RSVP in advance.
Hope you can make it!
