Drinks & Tapas @ Joya Lounge in Palo Alto

Let's get together in Palo Alto and hangout at the elegant tapas restaurant & wine bar - Joya.  This is a classy destination located on University Ave and has acquired a 9/10 rating on FourSquare.

I always enjoy our South Bay events and am looking forward to checking out another new venue and meeting new people!

Check out Joya's website HERE.

Look for our traditional BLUE and PURPLE balloons.

See you there,

I just want to say that I thought the evening was a success. I met some cool new folks (Deb, Bethany, Sri, Emily) and had a good time. Opinions vary but I think Art managed to provide some necessary structure while still keeping it loose and friendly so people felt free to mingle. Moving the group from Joya was relatively smooth: it's usually more like herding cats. Keep up the great work!

Thanks Rich! It's true, the bigger the group the harder it is to manage. Hope to see you again at one of our future events. Cheers

Maybe there will be a better turnout for Palo Alto events on the weekend

Thanks to everyone that came out last night! We had 40+ people come out - 50% of rsvp's (very good for meetup) and a huge group for just a casual drinks. We DO NOT do age specific events; this was the first time we had this diverse of an age difference. Still, we do not want to put too many restrictions on our members and/or our events.

I called the venue 2 days prior and the morning of; they knew we were coming but they did not inform their staff. The manager didn't like the fact that each person in our group was "NOT spending $50+" and that's the reason they asked us to move. This is the first and last time we will do an event at Joya. Nola Lounge turned out to be fun and had a wonderful staff too. We'll definitely visit Nola again. It takes a lot of time and energy to organize and host events. We cannot control everything and we cannot please all the people all the time. But I hope that most folks enjoyed themselves and got a chance to make some new friends.

Not many people show up which is typical of meetup events. An age range specific event would be nice in the future. Seems very unorganized.
