Socks For The Homeless - Furman University 5/10K

The UpState PathFinders are collecting socks again this year for the homeless!

Did you know that socks are the least donated clothing item for the homeless and the needy. Because most homeless people do not have an easy access to a washer/dryer, they wear their (usually) only pair until they get a new pair. Can you help??

Any and all donations for this would be greatly appreciated. If you are not in the Greenville area but would still like to help, we will gladly take a cash donation and then purchase socks with it.

Checks can be made out to: The UpState PathFinders, 525 Crane Ave., Greenville, SC 29617 or can you drop off your donation in person at one of our upcoming walks.

Enjoy a walk around Furman University Campus. The walk covers some of 750 acre campus with miles of walking paths through its almost 200 year old campus. It has a beautiful lake with graceful swans swimming peacefully while people of all ages and athletic abilities stroll around it. A replica of the cabin that Henry David Thoreau lived in while writing his masterpiece, Walden, is by the lake. You will enjoy the beautiful landscaping, the Buddhist temple above the Asia garden, the rose garden, reflection ponds and several breathtaking fountains. And, you will also experience a part of the Swamp Rabbit Trail which connects the beautiful town of Travelers Rest with Greenville. Don’t miss this treasure of the South!

Special Programs: Alternative Capitals, Amphitheatres, Animal Safari, Bridges - Spanning the USA, Food For Thought, Lakes and Reservoirs, Make a Wish at a Water Fountain, National Register of Historic Places, Points of Reference, State Street Sashay

Drive 30 miles to walk in a cold rain? Naw. We decided to wimp out. See you at the Christmas party.

No problem...I'm sure others will not want to walk in the rain.
