Thanks for coming out everyone. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who showed up beyond those RSVPd through the meetup. Looking forward to the next one.

Attendees gave me 2 tips that could accelerate our BTC vending machine.

I have to finish what I'm working on right now first so I won't make 4 PM but ASAP after that. I'm bringing my Dad who started a barter club with its own local alternative currency in the 1970s.

Just tossing this idea out there: might want to create an agenda item related BTC exchange rate movement and how to address downward trends/volatility when folks point to MtGox type news. https://www.virwox.com

Thats not a bad idea to make a rough list of agenda items in advance that the group would like to discuss. Still in the beginning stages; group structure is definitely something I'd like to come up tomorrow. How can we make the most of this group. As for the volatility, looking forward to discussing it tomorrow. I have many thoughts on this topic, as well as a few elevator speeches depending on who I'm talking to when I get asked about it (which happens more and more often these days).

I started to type a long response to this, which then digressed into the pros and cons of having lots of different cryptocurrencies for particular purposes vs one main cryptocurrency that continues to evolve and be built on top of. Both routes have merits and are interesting to discuss. Probably more fun as an in-person discussion. Are you going to make it on Saturday?

Those are definitely the type of projects I hope will come out of this meetup. I intentionally didn’t get too technical in the description, as I didn’t want to scare anyone off initially. Hopefully it’s written in such a way that will still draw those who already have a deep technical understanding of bitcoin. Speaking of local trading networks, the folks at PYD LLC (https://www.facebook.c...) have a business plan that overlaps with your proposal to some degree. I don’t want to give anything away that they haven’t announced yet, however, last I heard they were going to try and make it to the meetup tomorrow.
